High Country Vol. 1

Because it is one of our FAVORITE places on this beautiful Earth. Took a trip to the mountains. Sometimes it is nice to go get that mountain air.

Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long from North Carolina to Virginia. I’ve been up and down it many times in my life. We covered about 40/50 miles of it riding and stopping at the Cascade Falls in Deep Gap, North Carolina. Later on, stopped in the town of Spruce Pine – an old mining and train town. First visit there. The weather was wild and beautiful all day. Slight rain, sun, wild fog, blue skies, overcast, cool 60 degree temps… you name it. Let’s take a trip with some photographs.

Must start off any trip with a sweet tea with lemon. Followed by damn good tunes.

One of my most favorite things to do in the outdoors, photograph wild flowers… especially in the mountains.

I can honestly say I’m one photographer who rarely has her picture made anymore. Glad I reminded myself on this trip. So… howdy.

As night began to fall, admired these beautiful flowers Spruce Pine had growing downtown.

Another great day spent in North Carolina.
